The dance that is performed during the festive season wearing a mask is referred as the ‘Chhau’ dance. It is a semi classical Indian dance with martial and folk traditions, with origins from the eastern India that enacts episodes from epics including the Mahabharata and Ramayana, local folklore and abstract themes. The artistic work of the mask is beautifully done by the dedicated artists.
